GEO Consultants is looking for a Senior Scientist for ongoing federal and commercial projects. A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or a similar program is required; PhD preferred. The home office for GEO Consultants is located in Kevil, Kentucky. However, this position is one that can be worked remotely. The incumbent selected for this position will be expected to travel to the corporate office in Kevil as needed, approximately once per month. Minimal travel would also be required as it relates to necessary meetings with clients/regulators, community relations, research, or field work as necessary. International travel may also be required.
A successful Senior Scientist applicant will have experience with U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and CERCLA process documents: Archive Searches, Preliminary Assessments, Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Proposed Plans, and Decision Documents. Experience with Phase I/Phase II site assessments is a plus. Knowledge with human health and/or ecological screening level and quantitative risk assessments is preferred. Expertise as it relates to geotechnical engineering (reading and interpretation of boring logs and site models) and hydrologic testing (i.e. aquifer testing) is favored. Candidates for consideration must have strong technical writing and communication skills, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, have experience managing large data sets, and an a strong understanding of the following computer programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, Rockworks, Project, and Publisher is strongly preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. GEO is an equal opportunity employer. GEO is hiring for an Environmental Field Technician to support environmental sampling programs. Please note that this position is contingent upon available funding. Position will also require laboratory maintenance, shipping/receiving of samples, and inventory of M&TE in addition to environmental sampling for various media. Position requires a strong work ethic, good decision making skills, dependability, willingness to accept responsibility, and strong attention to detail. Previous sampling experience a plus. 40 Hour Hazwoper training a plus. Some travel may be required. Must pass pre-employment background screen, physical, drug screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance up to the “Q” level. Office located in Kevil, KY.
